Halcyon Days Enamels
Halcyon Days Enamels
Halcyon Days was founded in 1950 by Susan Benjamin and is among the rare international shops to specialize in both antique and contemporary collectors' items.

Halcyon Days originated from the Greek legend surrounding a "halkion" or kingfisher who laid its eggs in a nest that floated on the sea. Poseidon calmed the waves to prevent them from being broken, and the period became known as the days of tranquility and peace.

Mrs. Benjamin is personally involved in the design process from initial inspiration to the final approval of the master sample. A proposed design is reviewed and amended at least six times before the artwork and color choices are finalized.

Each design goes through at least thirty separate skilled hand processes over a four-week period before it is ready to leave the factory. Endorsed by Royalty for exceptional craftsmanship, each piece displays the Queen's Royal Warrant of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Halcyon Days has been granted the privilege to display the maximum number of Royal Warrants a business may receive - four. Only eight English companies enjoy this honor. This achievement is the ultimate recognition of excellence for the service and quality required to produce each Halcyon Days Enamels design.

The Halcyon Days Enamels collection are meticulously designed and crafted in England following enameling techniques perfected more than two hundred years ago. Just as the hand-painted objets d'art were coveted by the aristocracy of the Georgian period, today Halcyon Days Enamels are prized for their delicate images and fine craftsmanship.

Halcyon Days' antiques, enamels, and porcelain are incomparable collectors' items, gifts par excellence. They are direct descendants of the rare and beautiful enamels of 18th-century England. Prized by collectors all over the world, both as tokens of taste and sentiment and as small works of art, they are the antiques of tomorrow.
