DETROIT TIGERS
In 1992, Mike Ilitch purchased the Detroit Tigers, Detroit's major league baseball team, which plays in Comerica Park. The new ballpark sits next to the new home of football's Detroit Lions in downtown Detroit's Theatre District, Ford Field. Comerica Park opened in the 2000 season. Sports Illustrated said that Comerica Park is a “brilliant ballpark”, among the top two or three in the country.

FOX THEATRE
The Ilitches purchased the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit’s theatre district in July 1987 and lovingly restored it to its 1928 splendor. The 5000-seat theatre re-opened on November 19, 1988 and has been designated a National Historic Landmark. In addition to a mix of performances, concerts, Broadway shows, classic movies and family entertainment, it has hosted events associated with the Ryder Cup in 2004, the 76th All-Star Game in 2005 and the XL Super Bowl in 2006. In 2002, it was ranked the top grossing theatre in North America by Pollstar Magazine.

LITTLE CAESARS AMATEUR HOCKEY LEAGUE
Founded in 1979 by Mike and Marian Ilitch, the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League has grown into the largest amateur hockey league in the United States. Today the league consists of more than 900 travel and house teams with 15,000 youth hockey players competing in over 100 rinks in the Detroit metro area, including Joe Louis Arena. Little Caesars AAA Hockey is one of the most recognized and respected organizations in amateur travel hockey.
